Do you love a clean truck?
At Keane Thummel Trucking, there long history and true love of a clean and shiny Peterbilt driving down the road! We believe there are many positive benefits in having a clean truck and we like to give many opportunities for our people to drive clean equipment.
Clean equipment leads to fewer inspections, helps foster pride in your job, helps with maintenance on the trucks, etc.
We have our own truck wash at our shop, located in Bedford, IA and encourage our people to have their truck washed by our wash bay group anytime they are through the shop. We also have a national account with Blue Beacon. Our people automatically have one truck wash a month in the Blue Beacon system and additional washes can be easily added at any time!
Not only keeping equipment clean on the outside, but many of our drivers report some of the following things help keep the inside of the cab clean! Consider some tips on keeping your truck clean on the inside!
- Keep two sets of shoes, one set for while you are out of the truck working and one set for driving?
- Put down rugs in the open spaces on the floor.
- Get in the habit of taking out your trash every time you stop to fuel up.
- Keep things off your dash. Loose items such as paperclips and pens can wreak havoc on the truck’s HVAC system.
- Keep a container of baby wipes or disinfectant wipes on hand to help keep surfaces clean and clean up spills right away.
The first day of Spring starts tomorrow! A little Spring Cleaning may be just what is needed to get a jumpstart on a clean truck!
